元祖Hansanggeun竹筒飯為首度開發出韓式竹筒飯的Hansanggeun先生所經營的餐廳，在竹筒飯餐廳林立的潭陽，可謂元祖中的元祖。似乎正因為如此，店內裝潢也與眾不同。從天花板到牆壁、地板、隔板與罩燈等，都是老闆親手以竹子製成的作品，呈現出名副其實的元祖竹筒飯餐廳之面貌。

竹筒飯是將飯、黑米、銀杏、松子、紅棗、栗子等放入竹筒中，再於其上覆蓋韓紙，放入鍋中蒸熟製成的料理。
加熱後，竹筒內薄薄的膜(竹茹)與竹子的汁液(竹瀝)會跑出來，被飯吸收進去。而兩者據《東醫寶鑑》記載，皆有利於人的身體，是難得的健康食品。然而竹筒只要使用一次，就不會再產生竹茹與竹瀝，所以元祖Hansanggeun竹筒飯餐廳相當講究，每次都用新的孟宗竹來煮竹筒飯，也因為擁有佔地廣大6萬㎡的竹林，餐廳能直接栽培並採摘所需的竹子。

店內最有名的招牌料理即為竹筒飯，但不僅如此，這裡所有用竹子製成的料理都格外美味，其中尤以最常使用的竹筍為最。選擇口感細密清爽的潭陽竹筍中最柔軟的尖端部分，加上小黃瓜、水芹菜、青辣椒等蔬菜，再放入田螺與微酸的醋辣椒醬一起攪拌而成的涼拌田螺竹筍，是這裡備受喜愛的人氣餐點。

除了竹筍外，這裡的辣椒、洋蔥、生菜等蔬菜皆為直接栽培而成，因此相當新鮮。而以土雞加上竹子汁液一起燉煮而成的清燉竹雞也是別具風味的特色料理，隱隱的竹香使雞肉無一絲一毫腥味，極其清甜。若想品嚐美味，最晚需提早於造訪的40分鐘前先行預約，以免向隅。
